Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most asked questions.
Remedial massage is a complementary therapy that aims to treat muscles that are damaged, knotted, or tense. A remedial massage therapist will work to locate these areas in order to repair them and promote natural healing.
What is remedial massage?
While the two often get confused, they offer very different experiences. The focus of remedial massage is to identify and treat muscles causing pain or injury. Because of this, remedial massage therapists are required to study for longer and must thoroughly understand the way the body works and the tissues that they are treating.
What's the difference between remedial and deep tissue massage?
Most likely, yes (sorry!). Because remedial massage targets already sore or damaged muscles it is completely normal to experience some prolonged discomfort or pain after your massage. This is nothing to be worried about and will typically go away in 1-4 days.
Will I be sore after my massage?
We recommend your first appointment for 60 minutes. This is because we do not want to “over massage” you and risk irritating your muscles more. Once you have had a couple of appointments you may then want to consider moving to 30-minute sessions.
How long should I book my appointment for?
Absolutely! We are a Preferred Member Care Provider with MBP and Bupa and accept all private health fund providers in Australia.
